3-Piece George 111 Regency Silver Teaset Dated 1814/18, Charles Fox, London
3-piece George 111 Regency silver teaset dated 1814/18, Charles Fox, London
Typical oblong style with gadroon borders, and further decoration of acanthus leaf and shells.
The teapot is dated 1818, and the cream and sugar is dated 1814 and all match perfectly
The reason for this, is that silversmiths made probably a large number of teapots, sugar bowls and cream jugs at any one time and when he took them of the shelf to sell wasn't interested in what date letter they were because they were all new at the time.
Charles Fox was a very celebrated silversmith in London at this time.
41.7 Troy ounces.
